today's walk: Castlerigg stone circle - Keswick railway footpath

above the A66 the right of way forks right but a new permissive path goes left ..

.. to this tunnel full of sheet ice

we withdrew, crossed the A66 and descended the old right of way

bridge on the old railway now a path and cycleway
