today's walk (Keswick rambling club): Fellbarrow - Low Fell - Darling Fell

the start of our circuit at Waterend Farm

on the Mosser Fell road

good luck that we didn't have to go through his field!

zooming over the Solway to Criffel in Scotland

ascending Fellbarrow with the West Cumbrian plain below

Fellbarrow summit looking east to Whiteside and Grasmoor

descending from Fellbarrow towards Low Fell

looking west from Sourfoot Fell

looking over Lorton Vale to distant Skiddaw ..

.. and to Whiteside

first glimpse of Crummock Water from the ridge to Low Fell

on Low Fell summit

heading to the south top

looking east from the south top to the viewpoint

view east from the viewpoint

a bit inconsiderate of this sheep to die here and spoil the view down into the valley!

Whiteside and Grasmoor from the viewpoint

another shot of this glorious view avoiding the dead sheep

the foot of Loweswater with Carling Knott and the Blake Fell massif beyond

looking east from the cairn on Darling Fell

zooming in on Buttermere and Crummock Water from the cairn

looking southeast with Hen Comb in the middle catching some sun

looking west from the top of Darling Fell

descending the steep west ridge of Darling Fell

this old tractor is now a permanent feature in the landscape
... apparently it is actually an ancient mowing machine

descending towards Loweswater
