today's walk: Ether Knott - just found to be the true summit of Grange Fell

Catbells from Surprise View

very wet at the head of Derwentwater

looking over Derwentwater to Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw

looking up Watendlath Beck

Belted Galloways beside the beck

the bull sniffing one of his harem

Watendlath Valley from the steep slopes I climbed above the beck

looking back down the steep and bracken covered slopes

higher up Watendlath Tarn comes into sight

a small deer watches me over the fence ..

.. and soon a whole group comes for a look before running off

looking over the Brund Fell area to the Scafells and Great Gable from the slopes of Ether Knott

Watendlath from Ether Knott summit - which is apparently 4m higher than Brund Fell

Borrowdale and a glimpse of Grange from Ether Knott summit

Derwentwater with Skiddaw beyond from Ether Knott summit

zooming in on Watendlath from Ether Knott

looking down into the valley with the Belted Galloways
