this morning's walk: Alcock Tarn - Heron Pike - Stone Arthur

early on a rather dismal morning as I start towards Alcock Tarn looking down on Grasmere

a glimpse of Helm Crag through the foxgloves

starting to clear over Helm Crag and Steel Fell

zooming in on Helm Crag

sunshine in the valley and stormy clouds over the fells

more cloud swirling over Helm Crag and Steel Fell

I sat on a seat beside the path for ages enjoying this rapidly changing weather

Helm Crag again with brilliant sunshine in the foreground

looking down on Grasmere from my seat

mist rising over fells further west

zooming in on the Langdale Pikes

Helm Crag now clear of cloud ..

.. and again zoomed in

looking north towards Dunmail Raise

Helm Crag again as I continue on the path to Alcock Tarn

sunshine in the Grasmere Valley

Herdwick ewe and lamb posing

looking down on Grasmere

one more shot of Helm Crag
