this morning's walk: Latrigg

the tunnel under the A66

Blencathra from the path beyond the tunnel

descending onto the old railway, now a footpath and cycleway

bridge over Glenderaterra Beck from the old railway

looking along the old railway towards Keswick past an old platelayer's hut with Latrigg up on the right

stormy weather approaching from the west

looking down the water eroded track to Latrigg

first glimpse of Derwentwater with a thunderstorm towards its head

looking back down the east ridge of Latrigg to Blencathra and the Mell Fells

not very pleasant on the summit ridge of Latrigg - here looking south to Derwentwater

the storm coming in over Dodd, Carl Side and Skiddaw

looking over Keswick to Derwentwater

the Coledale fells from the west ridge of Latrigg

two friends coming up as I descend with Skiddaw ahead

starting to clear over the Coledale fells

zooming in on Barrow and Outerside ..

.. and on Catbells and Maiden Moor

Hindscarth and Robinson with a little fresh snow or hail

the Coledale fells clearing with a bit of sunshine

zooming in on the southern arm of the Coledale horseshoe

sun on the fields looking northwest to Bassenthwaite Lake

looking back towards Skiddaw in the cloud
