today's walk (Keswick rambling club): High Rigg

High Rigg from the bus stop

on the lower reaches of High Rigg south ridge

Watson's Dodd (in cloud), Castle Rock and Legburthwaite from the ridge

Great How and Thirlmere from higher up

looking down onto the start of the ridge with the Helvellyn ridge to the left

Castle Rock and part of the misty Helvellyn ridge

zooming in on Thirlmere dam

heading along the ridge of High Rigg

looking back to Great How, Thirlmere and Raven Crag

looking down into St John's in the Vale with the crags of Clough Head to the right

looking back south from another top we visited - our longest view of Thirlmere

heading towards the true summit

on top of High Rigg with Bassenthwaite Lake in the distance

cloud covered Blencathra from the top of High Rigg

descending from High Rigg with the cloud covered Skiddaw massif and Tewit Tarn in the distance

looking back to High Rigg from the path to Tewit Tarn

a hungry fell pony invades our intended lunch spot

now there are two so we abandon this spot

a new calmer lunch spot looking back towards High Rigg ..

.. and it also gives a better view of Tewit Tarn with cloud covered Blencathra behind

cloud almost lifting off Clough Head from the lunch spot

cloud covered Lonscale Fell from Tewit Tarn

today's hill High Rigg from the return path to High Nest

looking south from the field path to High Nest

Derwentwater from the descent path to Keswick

Keswick from Springs Road
