Lake District National Park work party tending to trees at Burblethwaite

a stop at the foot of Bassenthwaite Lake on the way loooking across to Skiddaw, Ullock Pike and Dodd

the wood at Burblethwaite - looking a lot more advanced than last time I came here

rough going up to our work site

the job is to release the thriving trees from their restricting cages

one tree constrained in a cage ..

.. and here after I released it

another caged tree ..

.. and after attention with its dead upper branches removed

this one has already broken out of its protective cover ..

.. but here it is growing free

getting down to more cover removal

the Skiddaw massif from the foot of Bass Lake again on the way home

zooming in on the yachts and Dodd

looking up Bass Lake

zooming in on Ullock Pike
