today's walk: a patrol for the Lake Distict National Park in Lorton Vale

the first stile

a very vague path through this wood

looks like an impossible climb over this stile ..

.. but I find a much easier one in the corner

High Hollins

looking back north over Lorton Vale with Criffel (in Scotland) in the far distance

looking south over Lorton Vale from the path above the intake wall

some very red fungi beside the path

another view south along Lorton Vale

Low Fell from the gate on the path down to Beck House

Red Pike and Mellbreak from the path

looking west - the sunny hill in front is Brackenthwaite Hows

looking back north along the track

the bridge over Gasgale Gill

Whiteside from Lanthwaite Green Farm

a glimpse of Crummock Water and Mellbreak from the descent track

Crummock Water from its foot

Mellbreak from the foot of Crummock Water
