this morning's walk: Aira Force

Yew Crag on the side of Gowbarrow Fell from the road beside Ullswater

looking over Ullswater to Hallin Fell

the water level in Ullswater is very high

Ullswater with Place Fell on the other side from the path to Aira Force from the middle carpark

zooming in on the Ullswater steamer

another shot up Ullswater

the path down on this side is closed because of a landslide

looking down Aira Force from the upper bridge

looking upstream from the upper bridge

Aira Force (at its best after all the rain) from the lower bridge

forest workers watching their fire

a bit calmer further downstream

a glimpse of Ullswater through the trees with a snowy fell behind

I'm heading upstream to the upper falls

the river pours through this bridged cleft with a side stream toppling in

a double fall above the cleft

another twin fall

the "official" upper falls

a smart new bridge just above the upper falls - I've long thought one was needed here

looking downstream from the new bridge

looking upstream from the bridge

I walked back on the road - here looking over the wall to Ullswater and Place Fell
